Lifetime Achievement Awards at National Book Awards
In this special BEA podcast, we present coverage of the Lifetime Achievement Awards, presented at the National Book Awards on November 15, 2006.
Poet Mark Doty presented the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters to Adrienne Rich. David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, presented the Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community to Robert Silvers and, posthumously, Barbara Epstein, co-founders of The New York Review of Books. Author Fran Lebowitz was the host.
